C.W.A.V. was volunteering helping the U.S Marine clean up buildings. Then from their Me and My Godfather went to One Bucs Place to visit some Buccaneer Player. It was a enjoyable moment for Mr. Sutton as you see. Yesterday Children With A Vision visited a lot of Church's, Day Cares, Tampa Park Housing, H.O.P.E Center and donated a abundant amount of toys for their facilities and centers to give out to underprivileged families. Its a Blessing. God is good.

Gracie Donation To Children With A Vision “Toys 4 Tots”

This is a story that touched my heart early this morning. Ms. Susan Harris of “Auto DUI Immobilization” called me, and said that her niece Victoria Grace “Gracie” 6 yrs. old wanted to adopt a kid for Christmas. Gracie called UNICEF off of the TV and talked to someone, but was unsuccessful. They probably thought she was playing on the phone. Her Aunt “Susan Harris” called me for Gracie, and guess what “6 year old Gracie” made a contribution to Children With A Vision…Toys 4 Tots and we were able to buy 3 bicycle for kids that are less fortunate to have a Christmas. Because of Miss. Gracie, 3 children will ride around for Christmas with smiles on their faces. My God, 6 yrs old gave her money to BLESS other children for Christmas. Now tell me God work through us all. Children With A Vision wants to thank 6 yr old “Miss. Gracie” and thank you to the parents who instilled morals in little Gracie.

CWAV 2nd Breast Cancer Awareness Walk-10-22-11

Child With A Vision participated in the second "Making Stride Against Breast Cancer Walk. Children With A Vision had the opportunity of collaborating with other business and organization: Nunoise Entertainment, The Hot Spot 813, and The Difference Makers. We all walked for a Cure, Purpose, and Cause. The walked started from the St.Pete Time Forum to Bayshore and back. It definitely was a remarkable and humbling experience to see all the families walking for their love ones. Tampa Bay you "Rocked For A Cure".
Every year this event gets bigger, and greater. So many lives has been touched by this walk, it just have you coming back just to be apart of it. Children With A Vision pledge to walk every year.

I accepted the offer to see what it was like to see through the eyes of a Law Enforcement Officer, and to gain knowledge for my community. I just want to commend Sweetbay on the corner of Mlk & Nebraska for doing a great job of giving back to the community. They are the only store that I see in the East Tampa region of giving back. Kingdom Worship Center Thanksgiving Blessing to 1000 families

Yesterday was a joyous occasion. Kingdom Worship Center distributed 1000 Meals to the Community. KWC, also paid a women light bill for 6 month, and gave away 5 computers, and etc. You seen nothing but joy and love every where. Children With A Vision board member assisted Kingdom Worship Center by Volunteering. Mr. Paul Rebein with 305-Paul/w The Rebein Law Firm passed out so many shirt, foot ball, candy to the community. I want to start off thanking everyone who came out for the BBQ for Haiti @ the H.O.P.E. Center. With the Partnership of Children With A Vision, Inc., and volunteers. In the bad cold and rainy condition, the total raised to send to Haiti, off of the dinner sales was $1,450.00. What a excellent turnout due to the condition. Bio of Mrs. Tonya M. Lewis

As a child, I grew up in Miami with my brother and single mother. At a young age I watch my mother going through a lot of trials with my abusive father. I watched my father throw hot grease on my mother. My brother and I were separated from our mother for six months in a foster home, where people treated you like you were nothing. My mother made some wrong choices in life, but she raised us as best as she could.

I was molested at the ages of five and seven. I asked God why me? At such a young age, I had a lot of responsibilities, more than the average child should have had to worry about. I felt as if the world was on my shoulders. I did not have the chance to be a child.

I was pregnant at the age of thirteen, looking for love in all the wrong places. I gave birth to a still born little girl, name Tonya Maria Tillman. It bothered me, but God knows best.

I left home at the age of fourteen, and lived in many places that were not safe. Imagine being exposed to a world full of surprises. Such as getting caught up in the world of selling drugs at a young age in order to survive. Eventually that world caught up with me and I served sixty days in Yulee, Florida canoeing on the Suwannee River. Boy what an experience! It kept me out of trouble for a short time.

After going through these things, I should have learned. Later in life meeting a young man and became pregnant again at the age of seventeen. And going through emergency surgery losing yet again another child. Again, I asked God why and how much more?

Going out into the world again, this time I met a gentlemen by the of name Mr. Oliver Wendell Lewis whom I later married. But once again tragedy, my husband was an innocent bystander and was killed by a stray bullet. If I had have ever felt like the world ended at that point, I thought mine did. Still the pain is unbearable today.

At the age of twenty, I was going through many obstacles in my life. I was placed in prison for eighteen months. At that time, prison was a joke because they had movies, games, and all kind of things to pass the time away. I was released from prison and met another young man whom had a lot of money, and took me all around different places. Only to find out that he was into a drug lifestyle. The unlimited money captured my attention at such a young age. You know the lavish life. Again I got caught up in the system at the age of twenty-two, only this time it was against me. The prosecution tried to sentence me to thirty-three years, not because of the crime which I was accused of, but for the information they wanted. I would rather have did time to provide them with some dangerous information that would have cost me my life.

Prison, again. This is where it stops, I was tired! I was sentenced to seven years prison, followed by twelve years probation. Going in circles again. My life was just revolved around problems, circumstances, and choices.

Doing prison time, was not in vain this time. I enrolled myself in school, achieved a couple of certificates in vocational classes: small engine repair, cosmetology, substance abuse 1 & 2, professional cooking and calligraphy class. God opened my eyes this time, and made it work for me. I graduated, and successfully received my G.E.D.

I went through a lot upon returning home, because society rejects a convicted felon. With all the education and experience, I was subject to working at a Dunkin Donuts and Eldorado Grand Prix Car Wash. I worked at both jobs for six months, generating $300 per week.

I knew it had to be something better than that. In 1995 started mowing yards with my ex-finance. Things did not work out, I went downtown, and obtained my business license for Lewis Lawn Care, Inc.

Just when I thought things were going well with my lawn service. In 1996, I was the victim of first degree attempted murder. I was stabbed twenty one times in my sleep, by a fifteen year old name Chaquail Lewis, my in-law, whom I was raising. She received ten years in Florida State prison. Everyone deserves a chance. At least I thought. At that point in my life. In addition to this my Ex-fiancé was killed in a motorcycle accident. I really asked God why me? I knew somewhere in my life I needed to change something. So I asked God to guide my life from that point. I purchased a house at the age of twenty five. And things were hard, because being an African American woman in a predominately male industry was slim. But I succeeded. Eleven years. Thank God. Well in 2004, I completed twelve years probation. Thank God for his grace and mercy. Such a very hard road to travel. Thanks to God, he allowed me to make it, when they said “I wouldn’t make it”.

But I just did not want to stop there. I wanted to contribute back to the community, and kids. So I formed a foundation, which is called Children With a Vision, Inc... It holds so many different titles. One is a networking between business owners, community gatherings, and most of all school supplies for the kids. And most of all mentoring the youth on life skills, consequences, and choices in life. And the most important thing of all I have my rights back to VOTE. Now I mean something in today’s society. I have a voice.

I was once a Child With a Vision, and along the way people didn’t give up on me. So if I can help your child and many others, then God utilized me the way he intended. By the grace and mercy of God, learning from my mistakes has made me into the prosperous woman that I am today.

I just wanted to say “thank you” for the people who’ve been in my life for a season through my trials and tribulations, most of all my Success.

Tampa Housing Authority had a graduation ceremony for the adults who completed Introduction to Computer A+ Certification. Great ceremony, and I'm glad Children With A Vision, Inc. was apart of a nice event.It is wonderful for adults to go back and improve themselves for technology. It will help them. I'm so proud of these adults for their accomplishment. God Bless them on their next journey.

LOCAL HAITIAN RELIEF EFFORTS CONTINUE IN THE BAY AREA DESPITE THE SLOW DECLINE IN DONATIONS AROUND THE WORLD

Planes Are Secured for Delivery of Goods from Local Organizations and Communities; Volunteers Will Gather at N-E-Where Transport To Sort Supplies and Load Trucks

Tampa, Florida - February 5,2010 - Kalos International, Children With a Vision, The Haitian Education Foundation and N-E-Where Transport will join together again to collect items for Haiti Survivors. The volunteers will pack one to two truck loads to be driven to Miami and shipped by plane/boat to the victims of the Haiti Earthquake. Last Friday, nearly 35 volunteers packed medical supplies, non-perishable food items, hygiene products and water onto a large truck for the victims. The items were taken to Miami and crew flown into Haiti on planes last Saturday. N-E-Where Transport has donated a warehouse as a drop off location and storage facility. They've also donated their trucks to transport the collected items to Miami. Despite the reduction of giving, local community groups will continue their relief efforts with another large drive on February 5, 2010 from 10pm-6pm at N-E-Where Transport (3808 E. MLK Blvd.).

Feed the Families (Thanksgiving Dinners) 2009

Sunday, 11-22-09 was great day of charitable events of giving back to the community. We had a couple of anonymous sponsors who do not want the recognition of providing 35 families their uncooked meals for Thanksgiving. N-E- Where Transport allowed us to use their place of business for distribution of the meals. Thank you Mr. Amato. I had the the honor from the Attorney and his family to be able to choose the families in our community to receive these dinners. It's times like this when you can come together, and give God thanks. Coming together for a just cause of doing God's work of giving back, and forgetting yourself. I just want to thank the Attorney and his family for being so generous and humble. And especially having the honor of trust to be able to carry out his father's legacy. Thank You.

Last night was a very beautiful, and elegant event for Breast Cancer. I give Mr. Rob Earl of H.O.O Enterprises, LLC and the Buccaneer Players who came out to make this event a sucess. I commend Mrs. Sonia Franklin whom is a suvivor was the Key Note Speaker of the night. Mrs. Franklin story inspired me as a young lady to give my time to learn, and also volunteer. The event was just simply beautiful. The Buc Players were in attendant to celebrate there family, friends and other affected by Breast Cancer.

DO YOU remember the times!!!! Survial 1. When you put a slice of bread of the bottom of the plate and piled grits,butter,and cheese over the bread, and that was a meal. 2. Rice with butter. 3. Sugar water frozen in ice tray. That was our popcicles. 4. Toast with surup poured over it.......... 5. Tomatoes sandwhich, with mayo, salt and a dash of pepper. 6. lima or blackeye peas with rice....NO MEAT 7. Powder milk, with a little bit of sugar. Government Block cheese, that made the best grilled cheese sandwhich.

See sometimes we forget those days. NEVER forget were you came from. Because that's what's going to help you get were you're going today. I thank GOD for those days. Because in the mist of this recession, WE know how to survive. Go back to those days before you had the resturants, and the fine dining. God BLESS everyone THIS DAY. And just to add, When God Bless us to wake up, we won't even smile, or say good morning.

I REMEMBER those days, That's what make me the young lady I am today, striving to make someone else day better. And that's what make me forget about what i'm going through. Now I'm going to go to work now, and make a better day for myself. Thank God for my DADDY, he made a strong LADY TODAY.

I just want to thank the Lord TODAY, but always. God is so good. He lay us down everynight. And when he Bless us to wake up every morning, I give him thanks. I don't know what my day brings, but I trust in God, that he will make a way out of no way.

Purchasing School Supplies today

I just want to say thank to Target for allowing me to purchase 4,000 packs of paper, 300 boxes of pens, and glue sticks. The stores cry about their sales are down. But they limit you to certain quanities. But I want to say Thank You Target for allowing me not to be stressed out going to multiple store today. The kids would be grateful. And the manager and employees who helped me load it on the truck, get's a thumbs up.
